What is Denali Venture Philanthropy? Denali Venture Philanthropy is a program of the Center for Effective Giving, a nonprofit organization that works to improve the lives and conditions of women. The group was created by the late President William Jefferson Clinton. The venture philanthropy initiative was developed to address some pressing issues on poverty and educational opportunity in the developing world. This philanthropic activity is organized as a part of the "New Leadership Partnership for Women" (NPPW), an initiative of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The Center for Effective Giving administers the grants that the Dandem Ventures accepts and disburse. The organization also handles all the legal issues that may arise from the grants. They will serve as the communications and grant-focused hub for the Dandem Ventures. The main goals of the center include: reducing the economic and social gaps caused by poverty and empowering women. They also aim at building the self-sufficiency of communities and families. Grants are only disbursed if they are truly needed and if the projects would enhance overall economic development in the areas in which they are located.

The Denali Venture Philanthropy takes its name from a mountain in Colorado, where the founder of the company had his first experience looking over the snow-capped peaks. Today, it has become a home for several charitable organizations dedicated to improving the conditions in the developing world. Among these are the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Wellcome Trust, and theocytech Trust. Other organizations include the International Rescue Committee, the Conservation Corps, and the Global Food Safety Initiative.
